aux lets you share songs and build playlists with people who use a different music service than you do. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to get rid of it.
aux does not require you to connect a Spotify or Apple Music account, and we have no access to those accounts.
Only to make the app work: to keep you signed in, to show the right playlists, to remember who added what so you can remove your own songs, and to resolve a song across both platforms. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising.
We use a small number of service providers to run aux:
When aux looks up a song, it queries Apple's public iTunes Search API. That request contains the song title and artist — never anything about you.
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. Deleting your account permanently removes your account record, any playlists you created (including for people you shared them with), and your playlist memberships. Songs you added to other people's playlists remain, no longer linked to you.
This can't be undone.
Your account data stays until you delete your account. Cached song information — titles, artists, artwork — isn't tied to any person and may be kept so future shares of the same song resolve faster.
aux isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with our providers using their standard protections. No system is perfectly secure, but we don't store passwords and we keep what we collect deliberately minimal.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
